The Opportunity
We are seeking a hardworking Senior Data Scientist to join our People Analytics team and play a key role in shaping the future of our HR & Communications (HRC) data strategy. We are looking for someone to work with partners across the organization to understand high-impact people opportunities and apply sophisticated analytics techniques to derive insights and build data solutions. The ideal candidate would have strong technical skills and be passionate about applying AI/ML models to deliver value to the organization. Lastly, we are looking for an experienced candidate who can provide technical leadership in the team. This role will be an excellent opportunity to drive data solutions for partners across HRC and the business.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze large data sets using the latest available technologies and statistical methodologies to discover insights in data

  • Prepare data for predictive modeling, applying ML models, and building algorithms to solve key business problems and drive business value

  • Implement model evaluation techniques, communicate results to team members, and measure the performance of predictions

  • Partner with team members across Human Resources on people projects to understand key issues and the related business questions and hypotheses

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the field of data science and share knowledge with the team

  • Communicates result of analyses and relevant implications to both technical and non-technical partners

What we are looking for

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Statistics, etc.)

  • Experience with multivariate statistical methods, classification, dimension reduction, clustering, etc.

  • Proficient in programming languages (Python, R), relational databases (SQL) and large-scale distributed systems (Hadoop, Spark)

  • Experience in training machine learning models with both structured and unstructured data in big data pipelines (Azure or others)

  • Experience in developing and running pilot tests and knowledge of design methodologies to perform research

  • Familiarity with HR systems like Workday or other HR management platforms is a plus

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD
