Claims Portfolio Analytics aims to provide insights to the Claims business unit to empower decision-making. Claims Portfolio Analytics creates access to data and insights by providing tools to Claims leader and staff (dashboards, etc.) and supports data storytelling and data visualizations. Our team provides tactical consulting to Claims management on prioritization as well as project and Intervention planning and goal setting. 

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will support specifically the analytics of the Claims Vendor Management, while also coaching the team on clever use of data and advanced analytics. Vendors are the heart of Claims strategic objectives on efficiency, client engagement, cost containment as well as employee engagement. You will be responsible for providing significant business value through the creation; maintenance; implementation of analytical models. You will also effectively communicate findings and recommendations to the business.

How you will create impact:

  • With guidance, you design data science projects by breaking complex problems or high-level business objectives into smaller problems that can be addressed using data science.
  • With guidance from your manager, you make recommendations, and you influence your audience, including management.
  • You define the required models/technique to solve business problems and support other thorough the execution.
  • You are fully proficient in data science, having a proven track record in programming, using various statistical techniques, predictive modelling methods, and machine learning algorithms to achieve the expected outcome.
  • You coach peers on the use of a scientific methodology in all projects, tasks, and interactions.

To join our team:

  • You have 6-9 years of experience in Data Science or another related field.
  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or any other relevant field.
  • Having a Master’s degree and ACAS or FCAS designations are considered an asset.
  • You have strong knowledge and understanding of: Data analysis, Programing/tools, Modelling techniques, Data warehouse/data management, Research, Architecture/design.
  • You have experience solving complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information and can provide clear recommendations for improvement.
  • Experience with following technologies is an asset: Mitchell, Xactimate, HCAI
  • This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
