About Aiviq

Aiviq is a fintech company transforming how asset managers globally process, analyse, and leverage their data. We're seeking an experienced data scientist to lead our AI delivery pillar, reporting directly to the Head of Product and working across business functions to develop innovative solutions for our clients.

Role Overview

As  Senior Data Scientist at Aiviq, you'll lead our AI delivery initiatives, working with a cross-functional team to develop models that solve complex business challenges. This role requires both technical expertise and business acumen to transform large datasets into valuable insights.

Core Responsibilities

Data Science & Model Development

• Design robust statistical models using core data science techniques (regression, classification, clustering, anomaly detection)
• Develop analytics solutions for big data environments with proper feature engineering and validation methodologies
• Create data processing pipelines that transform raw financial data into actionable insights
• Apply rigorous statistical testing to ensure models deliver accurate, reliable results
• Implement solutions for document extraction and entity matching for financial agreement processing

Technical & Team Leadership

• Direct the AI delivery pillar, working closely with ML Engineers, ML Ops specialists and wider technology teams
• Establish frameworks for measuring model effectiveness and business impact
• Guide model validation, continuous training and improvement processes
• Evaluate cloud-based AI services within Azure, balancing security, cost and capability
• Client & Business Engagement
• Work directly with clients to understand business challenges and communicate technical solutions
• Present to client stakeholders in both pre-sales and product development capacities
• Drive thought leadership in AI applications for investment management as part of Aiviq's Marketing strategy
• Work alongside Product to integrate AI capabilities to solve business problems within the Aiviq solution
• Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences

Your Qualifications

Required Experience

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
• 7+ years of hands-on data science experience with measurable outcomes
• Proficiency with core data science tools and technologies:
• Python with libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch
• SQL for data querying and manipulation
• R or similar statistical programming tools
• Data visualization tools (e.g. Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly)
• Version control and collaborative development tools (Git)
• Expert-level understanding of statistical methods and mathematical foundations
• Proven ability to process and derive insights from large, complex datasets
• Experience building and deploying production AI/ML models
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  
  

Desired Experience

• Knowledge of investment management or financial services (or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new domains)
• Experience with Microsoft Azure AI services and development environments
• Track record of leading AI initiatives from concept to production
• Client-facing experience in technical advisory capacity
