Job Summary

 

Global Payments seeks a Data Scientist to join the Predictive Intelligence team. Residing in the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence (CoE) within Corporate Finance, the Predictive Intelligence team leverages data science models, machine learning, and governed Apex data to create actionable predictive intelligence for the business and finance to use internally and externally.

Duties

  • Develop analytical models based on large, multidimensional datasets
  • Monitor, evaluate, modify and productionalize analytical models 
  • Handle basic data preprocessing such as handling missing values, normalizing data, and removing outliers
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to generate hypotheses
  • Tell stories with strong written communication and data visualization
  • Collaborate effectively with the business and other Business Intelligence CoE competency areas 

Job Requirements

  • Strong Python Programming skills including numpy, Pandas, Seaborn, matplotlib, etc.
  • Proficient in SQL
  • At least 3 years of experience as a data scientist
  • Strong understanding of time series analyses and associated modeling methodologies including (ARIMA/SARIMA/SARIMEX), Exponential Smoothing, VAR (vector autoregressive) models, RNNs, LTSM and CNNs 
  • Strong understanding of analytical objectives such as classification, regression, clustering, dimension reduction, association rule learning and optimization
  • Strong command of modeling methods such as GLMs, Neural Networks, gradiant boosted models, decision trees, random forest, and support vector machines
  • Good grasp of statistics, mathematics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with TensorFlow and PyTorch
  • Experience with cloud analytics tools such as Vertex AI (Google Gloud Platform) or SageMaker (AWS)
  • General understanding of cloud computing and distributed systems
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI, ChatGPT, etc.
  • Familiarity with linear programming and Monte Carlo simulation
