The opportunity


As a Snowflake Data Engineer at EY, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures within the Snowflake Data Cloud. You will work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure that data solutions are aligned with business requirements and objectives.

Your key responsibilities

As a Snowflake Data Engineer, you will:

  • Design and implement complex data pipelines and ETL processes within Snowflake's cloud data platform.
  • Optimize data storage and data processing performance in Snowflake to support real-time analytics and business intelligence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain data models, data marts, and data warehouses to support data analysis and reporting.
  • Implement data governance and security best practices within Snowflake environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data processing issues, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on Snowflake features and best practices.
  • Keep abreast of the latest Snowflake features and updates, as well as industry trends in cloud data platforms.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to the development of internal data engineering tools and processes.


Skills and attributes for success

  • Snowflake SnowPro Certification.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and data science concepts.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.


To qualify for the role you must have 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a strong focus on Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with scripting languages such as Python or Scala.
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools like Apache Airflow.
  • Familiarity with data integration tools and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling techniques.
  • Knowledge of cloud services, particularly AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their integration with Snowflake.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
