Summary
The Behavioral Science Lead role is responsible for leading projects around understanding behavioral challenges and developing strategies to addressing them. This role will also involve leading and closely working with their counterparts in the Consulting, Data Science and Engineering teams, to ensure complete integration and alignment of work that is done by all the three workstreams in a project.
Key Responsibilities:
Work across the entire spectrum of project phases -
Provides hands-on mentoring and leadership to User Researchers, Behavioral Science experts, Interaction Designers and Visual Designers through the entire design process from the best research / strategy methods, tools, approaches that are best suited for a client project
Build and present Proposal and Point of View (POV) documents for new business
Identify key descriptive hypotheses, and approach to research, that will build an understanding of context and actors’ behavior within that context, and speculate on prescriptive hypotheses to test as prototypes
Work within a multi-disciplinary problem-solving approach, combining the application of behavioral science within data science and engineering
Comfort working in cross functional team, to represent a behavioral science and design perspective
Lead & collaborate on planning, execution, analysis / synthesis on a variety of research efforts; ranging from quick / tactical to deep / strategic
Moderate customer interviews to identify underlying motivations, values, mental models and emotions
Synthesize research findings into concise, actionable insights and visual frameworks that provoke client teams to think differently about the problem / opportunity space
Ensure the Behavior Science and Design teams are delivering world-class deliverables and outcomes to the internal and external stakeholders.
Persuasively communicate findings in reports, presentations and workshops
Thought leadership internally within Fractal and in the external communities around the coming together of AI, Engineering and Design (and related topics).
Attraction, engagement and retention of talented team of Behavior Architects, Design Researchers & Strategists, Interaction Designers and Visual Designers who can continuously improve and transform the way we apply design to AI in an enterprise world.
Shape and refine the culture of the Experience team; its rituals, practices, personality, values and norms.
We're looking for someone who:
Has 8 to 12 years’ industry experience including managing client and leading team, with a minimum of 2-3 years in application of behavior science.
Must have demonstrable portfolio of work that reflects the breadth & depth of skills as a Behavior Architect.
A passion for continuous learning, including interest in reading and synthesizing research papers and books about the practice, and the ability to translate them into behavioral intervention.
Has real-world experience in managing projects & design teams and stakeholders (clients / customers) and is comfortable with extreme ambiguity
Loves an entrepreneurial culture and is excited about the challenge of building a Behavior Science and Design capability (within an established organization)
Desire to incorporate data science and design thinking into your practice of applied behavioral science
Strong writing skills
Adaptable to different business contexts, team structures, & project phases
Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform research and strategy
Willingness and comfort in building rapport with clients (at all levels of their organization), throughout the various project phases
Humble and sincere confidence clubbed with pragmatic optimism
Understand that thinking evolves through making (and making through thinking)
Desire to argue in support of a vision, and the ability to do so respectfully while keeping the team’s collective objectives at the fore
Understanding of how behavioural science and design can fit into data and AI ecosystem
Exposure and experience working with international clients / geographies will be a plus
Experience in consulting will be a big plus
We’re looking for someone with:
Master’s Degree in Behavioral science/ Cognitive Science/ Behavioral Economics/ Applied Social Psychology or equivalent degree
We’re looking for ’T-shaped people’ with broad skills in Business/ Management & Behavioral Science and deep skills in a particular Behavioral Science domain (ie. Behavioral Economics, Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, etc)
You might have been a SME in a large corporation or consultancy, or you may have worn many hats in a smaller organization
