Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Lahore, Pakistan

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team in Lahore, Pakistan. This crucial role will play a key part in strengthening our local accounting capabilities by bringing in-house bookkeeping functions currently outsourced to external tax advisors.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions for the Pakistani entity and will also take on the responsibility for the bookkeeping of two additional entities within the Asia Pacific region. This role will require strong local tax knowledge and active participation in the month-end closure process for the group.
Key Responsibilities
- In-house Bookkeeping:
- Manage the complete accounting & payroll cycle, including bookkeeping responsibilities, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation for the Pakistani entity.
- Implement and maintain accurate and efficient accounting procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Preparation of payments (checks and online banking) and cash requests from headquarters
- Regional Accounting Support:
- Take over bookkeeping responsibilities for two additional entities within the Asia Pacific region.
- Building new procedures for one of the enties to bring the accounting inhouse
- Coordinate with local contacts and gather necessary financial information.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions for these entities.
- Month-End Close Process:
- Actively participate in the month-end close process for the group, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and reconciliations as required.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and other financial analyses.
- Support audit requests as required
- Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local company and private income tax laws and regulations.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Advise on tax implications of business decisions
- Systems and Processes:
- Implement and maintain an integration of the current accounting system with the system of the tax advisor.
- Continuously review and improve accounting processes and controls.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting software or systems as needed.
- Teamwork & Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and regions.
- Maintain open and transparent communication with the Finance team and other stakeholders.
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, with a strong emphasis on bookkeeping and financial reporting.
- Proven experience in managing the full accounting cycle.
- Strong knowledge of local accounting standards and tax regulations in Pakistan.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (focussing Excel, Outlook) and accounting software
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Experience in a multinational or international company.
- Professional accounting certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
