We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Accountant who will oversee the company’s accounting operations. You will be required to regulate and authenticate financial transactions moved from the Account Analyst and ensure the effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks. You are also responsible for the balancing accounts and should have sound analytical and advanced skills using Microsoft Excel. Additionally, you will need a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures, including preparing month-end reports and financial forecasts. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Produce error free accounting reports  
  • Support month-end and year-end processes
  • Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations, and roll out reconciliation procedures
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Guide and manage junior accountants and other staff by answering questions and solving queries
  • Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spendings
  • Create and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation
  • Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports

  • Focus on tax compliance, state business registration, contract review, and non-profit tax filing
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Requirements

What You’ll Need: 

  • A degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • A minimum of five (5) years work experience in similar role
  • An Accounting or Finance Certification is mandatory
  • Must be an outstanding communicator, and have established skills in accuracy, organization and working in a high-volume environment
  • Organizational and stress management skills
  • Indepth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) 
  • Involvement in business registration, tax compliance and creating, distributing and reporting tax datasheets
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables
  • Experience in budget creation for your own department to coordinate team training and certifications
  • Thorough understanding of financial application security ensuring that all financial data is secure and complies with confidentiality policies
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to support all other departments within the company and coordinate training and information sessions
