Groupon, Inc. is looking for a SDE 3 Machine Learning Engineer  to join our team in Bangalore, India.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled SDE 3 MLE and data processing engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and implementing cutting-edge machine learning algorithms to enhance our products and systems. You will work on both new product design initiatives and improvement projects, utilizing your expertise in Data Science and programming to translate algorithms into efficient and scalable code. Additionally, you will leverage your knowledge of machine learning techniques to analyze data, optimize system performance, and drive innovation across various domains including Natural language processing, artificial intelligence, and image processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• To help a team of S/W engineers and Data Scientists/MLEs in developing and integrating software algorithms to Groupon platform

• to structure, analyze, and leverage data in both structured and unstructured environments.

• Utilize machine learning and statistical modeling techniques such as decision trees, logistic regression, Bayesian analysis, and others to enhance product/system performance, quality, data management, and accuracy.

• Translate technical specifications and algorithms into efficient code using Python and Java.

• Conduct testing, debugging, and optimization of algorithms and code to ensure functionality and efficiency.

• Create documentation and procedures for the installation, maintenance, and usage of developed algorithms and software components.

• Apply deep learning technologies to enable computers to visualize, learn, and respond to complex scenarios.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning capabilities into large-scale computing frameworks, data analysis systems, and modelling environments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience in developing software services. 

• Proficiency in Python and Java

• Experience in implementing machine learning algorithms and models is desirable.

• Background in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision and multimodal learning 

• Proficiency in relevant libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) to develop production-grade quality product 

• Experience with distributed systems design and implementation 

• Proficiency in Agile development practices and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) 

• Experience with data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., Tableau, Matplotlib, D3.js).

• Familiarity with large-scale computing frameworks (e.g.  Apache Spark).

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively 

• Good understanding of statistics, linear algebra, and probability theory

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and distributed computing 

• Experience working with APIs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field.

• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
