About Kriya

Kriya is a biopharmaceutical company whose mission is to develop life-changing gene therapies for diseases affecting millions of patients around the world.

We leverage our proprietary computational engine, in-house manufacturing infrastructure, and integrated design platform to engineer technologies and therapeutics with the potential to transform the treatment of a broad universe of diseases of high unmet need, with a focus on metabolic disorders, neurology, and ophthalmology.

We are proud to have been named Triangle Business Journal’s Life Sciences 2024 “Best Private Company to Work For,” recognized by Forbes as one of “America’s Best Startup Employers of 2024,” and honored as one of BioSpace’s “2025 Best Places to Work.”

Who You Are

The individual we are seeking possess an interest and expertise in the application of mathematical and statistical modeling to complex biological data. This individual will be responsible for supporting quantitative decision-making at all stages of the drug development process. Qualified candidates will have the ability to work on a variety of therapeutic indications and data types and must have some expertise in basic statistics, population pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (popPKPD) modeling, exposure-response (ER) modeling, and mechanistic/semi-mechanistic modeling.

How You Contribute

  • Develop and execute modeling strategies, contribute to project team discussions, and help guide decisions from therapeutic design to first-in-human dose selection and beyond.
  • Participate in the development and application of statistical, PK/PD, QSP, and physiologically-based PK (PBPK) models that integrate aspects of adeno-associated virus (AAV) biology with drug pharmacology, tissue biodistribution, mechanism(s) of action, and biological outcomes.
  • Contribute to collaborative initiatives for the development data processing and analysis workflows that extend across multiple function groups.

What You Bring to the Team

Education & Experience

  • Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in biology, bioengineering, pharmaceutical sciences, biophysics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years experience working in Life Sciences field.
  • Experience modeling applied to AAV gene therapies.
  • Some experience with the clinical pharmacology of protein therapeutics.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

Competencies

  • General Modeling Skills: Proficiency in core modeling fundamentals is required, including scripting languages (R preferred), construction of ordinary differential equation (ODE) models, parameter estimation, data visualization, and foundational pharmacometrics concepts.
  • Industry Modeling Skills: some exposure and proficiency in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (PK/PD), quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP), and/or physiologically based PK (PBPK) is preferred.
  • Some proficiency in a software package for nonlinear mixed-effects analysis (e.g., Monolix, NONMEM) is preferred.
  • Domain Expertise: Prior experience with the integration of computational modeling and biological data is required.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate modeling results to a multidisciplinary audience for collaborative work and/or to facilitate strategy and decision-making. Fluent in English (oral and written).

Working Conditions
