The SAP Planner in the pharmaceutical industry is responsible for managing production planning, material requirements planning (MRP), and supply chain processes using SAP ERP systems. This role ensures the efficient execution of production schedules while maintaining compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize SAP PP/MM modules to develop, maintain, and optimize production planning and scheduling.
  • Monitor and manage MRP to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging components.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and production teams to balance supply and demand.
  • Analyze inventory levels and recommend actions to optimize stock while preventing shortages or overages.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA, and other pharmaceutical regulatory standards in all planning activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance planning accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Generate reports and dashboards in SAP to track production performance and inventory health.
  • Lead SAP system improvements and troubleshooting for planning-related processes.
  • Support new product introductions by integrating them into the planning workflow.
  • Train end-users on SAP best practices for planning and inventory management.


Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in production planning or supply chain roles within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP PP/MM modules; knowledge of SAP APO or S/4HANA is a plus.
  • Experience with GMP, FDA regulations, and pharmaceutical quality standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in SAP (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate – Production Planning)
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of demand planning tools and techniques.
