Description

As an SDR for Verbit’s Higher Education team, you will focus on outbound prospecting efforts, targeting universities, colleges, and other educational institutions. Your role will be to engage key stakeholders, understand their accessibility and compliance needs, and qualify prospects for our sales team. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for education and technology. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct outbound prospecting via emails, cold calls, LinkedIn outreach, and other channels to generate new leads. 
  • Identify key decision-makers and influencers at colleges and universities. 
  • Engage prospects to uncover challenges around accessibility, compliance, and learning support needs. 
  • Educate prospects on Verbit’s solutions and how they can support their institutional goals. 
  • Qualify leads and schedule meetings/demos for the Higher Education sales team. 
  • Collaborate closely with account executives, marketing, and sales leadership to refine messaging and targeting strategies. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospecting activities in Salesforce. 
  • Consistently meet or exceed key activity and pipeline generation metrics. 

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience as an SDR/BDR, preferably in SaaS, EdTech, or technology sales. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with education sector stakeholders. 
  • Proactive, organized, and highly motivated to succeed in an outbound sales role. 
  • Ability to quickly learn and articulate Verbit’s value proposition for the education sector. 
  • Familiarity with CRM and sales tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. 
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a larger team. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience prospecting or selling to higher education institutions. 
  • Knowledge of accessibility, captioning, or compliance requirements in education. 
  • Interest in educational technology and digital transformation within learning environments.
