Description

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on RND Team Lead to guide our Insights Team, working at the forefront of legal technology. This team focuses on developing innovative solutions using cutting-edge language models (LLMs), search technologies, and AI-powered insights. As the Team Lead, you will manage a team of talented engineers—backend and frontend—to drive intelligent search and data exploration in the legal vertical. 

Your expertise in search technologies, prompt engineering, and cloud architecture will be critical in helping the team achieve its goals. You will lead the development of tools that leverage vector databases, OpenSearch, and graph databases to create advanced, AI-driven insights that empower legal professionals. You will set clear goals, manage team performance, and provide technical guidance, as well as hands-on development, to ensure timely project delivery. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Architect, design, and develop microservices using serverless technologies (AWS Lambda, API Gateway). 
  • Guide the implementation of search technologies (OpenSearch) and vector database embeddings for optimized retrieval. 
  • Lead the integration of large language models (LLMs) for advanced prompt engineering and AI-driven insights. 
  • Oversee data structures in graph databases to model and query complex legal relationships. 
  • Ensure the systems adhere to best practices in security, performance, and availability. 
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other R&D teams to define and prioritize features. 
  • Communicate technical progress and challenges with stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner. 
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence within the team. 
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in LLMs, search technologies, cloud services, and legal tech. 
  • Champion best practices in software development, including testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and documentation. 

In order to be great at this job, you’ll need

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams within search technologies, AI, or LLM-focused projects. 
  • Strong technical expertise with Python and AWS cloud services. Serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, API Gateway)- an advantage
  • Hands-on knowledge of search technologies like RAG, OpenSearch, vector databases, and embeddings. 
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning techniques, especially large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and graph databases.
