Meta Reality Labs brings together an R&D team of researchers, developers, and engineers with the shared goal of developing the next generation of XR experiences across the spectrum. Our World AI Research team explores, develops, publishes, and delivers novel and cutting-edge technologies for creating photorealistic 3D and 4D worlds from large-scale and heterogeneous data sources. Our team is addressing a variety of technical challenges including generative world foundation model development, static and dynamic reconstruction using radiance fields, semantic scene understanding, and related domains. We're looking for candidates who share a passion for exploring and solving complex, challenging problems at the intersection of generative modeling and photorealistic 3D/4D reconstruction. The aim of this role is to develop, advance, and support the technology maturing process of state of the art research in 3D/4D Generative AI technologies.Research Scientist, 3D/4D Generative AI for World Generation ResponsibilitiesResearch and develop novel computer vision models in Generative AI, with a focus on photorealistic 3D/4D scene generation.Publish research results at top-tier international conferences.Collaborate with team members throughout the lifetime of a project, from early research through prototypingDevelop research that can be applied to Meta’s VR/AR product developmentMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.PhD in the field of computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or equivalent3+ years of work experience in a faculty, industry, or government research position with primary emphasis on AI researchBackground in generative AI, 3D computer vision, video, and image generationExperience designing generative machine learning algorithms, including data curation, large-scale training, and inference of novel ML architecturesExperience working in cross functional collaborationsMust obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employmentPreferred QualificationsProven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences such as CVPR, ECCV/ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, SIGGRAPHExperience in AI research and with large-scale, foundation model training effortsEvidenced success with software engineering via internships, work experiences, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub.)Mathematical background and understanding of numerical optimization, linear algebra, probabilistic estimation, and 3D geometryExperience with prototyping algorithms in For those who live in or expect to work from California if hired for this position, please click here for additional information. About Meta Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses. When Facebook launched in 2004, it changed the way people connect. Apps like Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp further empowered billions around the world. Now, Meta is moving beyond 2D screens toward immersive experiences like augmented and virtual reality to help build the next evolution in social technology. People who choose to build their careers by building with us at Meta help shape a future that will take us beyond what digital connection makes possible today—beyond the constraints of screens, the limits of distance, and even the rules of physics. $177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefitsIndividual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
