Research Intern (Ph.D.): LLMs and Chip Design at ChipStack

About the job:

We are looking for an exceptional Ph.D. Research Interns to join our founding team and contribute to improving our in-house large language models (LLMs). In this role, you will apply cutting-edge techniques to fine-tune LLMs and implement novel ways to improve its performance on our target applications.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Ph.D. in CS, with a focus around ML or chip design (computer architecture and related areas)
  • Strong programming skills in Python, preferably in industry
  • Prior exposure to fine-tuning large language models
  • Prior exposure to hardware description languages like Verilog/SystemVerilog (expertise is not necessary)
  • Exposure to or active participation in the latest research and advancements in AI

Responsibilities:

  • Fine-tune and optimize large language models for our target applications in chip design
  • Develop benchmarks and metrics to assess the quality of outputs
  • Collaborate and guide data collection
  • Ship features that use the task you fine-tuned on
