Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. ERI@N has multiple Interdisciplinary Research Programmes which focus on translational Research, Development & Deployment which focus on specific area of the energy value chain, and a number of Living labs and Testbeds which facilitate large scale technology deployment enabling validation and demonstration of real-world applications.

We are looking for a Research Fellow for the development of battery Digital Twin for electric vehicle applications . The role will focus on utilizing novel machine learning models, large language models, and data science algorithms to develop battery models, optimization frameworks, and components of the Digital Twin. Our objective is to improve the performance and safety of EV batteries and drive innovation in the field of battery Digital Twins.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop novel scientific computing, physics-informed machine learning models including neural ODEs, neural operators and time-series models for Li-ion batteries.
Create data and AI-based optimization methods for thermal and health management of EV batteries.
Develop components of a battery Digital Twin, including system integration, data processing, data quality control, data visualization, and real-time simulation models.
Build Large Language Models (LLMs) for EV battery applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into practical applications.
Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at conferences.
Job Requirements:
PhD degree in Mathematics or Computer Science or related fields
Proficiency with mathematical modeling, data analytics, and machine learning model development
Familiarity in natural language processing (NLP) and large language models
Proficiency in programming languages such as Matlab, Python, and Javascript
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English for research purposes
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
