The Program Technical Office (PTO) will develop the automation philosophy and technical standards for the
program and ensure consistency throughout the projects. During the project execution stage of the
projects the PTO will support and provide oversight to the individual project teams. The PTO technical
manager will be accountable for the management of PTO deliverables and contribute technically to the PTO
team.
Provide leadership and be accountable for the delivery of the PTO scope
Plan, monitor and control PTO activities
Lead and manage the PTO Team
Communicate progress, issues, and needs to the Automation Program Manage
Provide necessary progress data to the PMO to allow preparation of monthly reports to stakeholders
Communicate automation staffing requests needed to meet project timelines to the Overall Program
Automation Leader & Program Automation Manager
Support preparation of cost estimates for project gate reviews and forecasts
Support schedule development, integration, and analysis for the projects
Identify and analyze risks of technical and management nature particular to the PTO
Provide technical consulting and support as a member of the PTO team
Collaborate with their Digital/MES work stream counterpart leads to align the automation and digital
solutions
Interface with other disciplines and stakeholders to ensure the PTO deliverables meet business needs
Maintain compliance with training requirements
Requirements
BS Engineering (or equivalent experience)
10+ years working Automation experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry (preferable in API/drug
substance manufacturing)
Previous experience in the delivery of large Automation Projects in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
5+ years’ experience in DeltaV Batch DCS
Preferable, previous experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs
Preferable, previous experience with Aveva PI
Proficiency in commonly used project management tools (scheduling P6/MS Project), metrics, risk
management)
Exceptional teamwork abilities
Strong knowledge of GMP’s, regulatory requirements and computer system validation principles
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audience
