Position Summary
The Project Manager for the Scout Platform plays a critical role in driving cross-functional coordination and end-to-end execution of customer projects and deployments. This role interfaces directly with Rekor’s Sales and Field Teams, while orchestrating collaboration with Solution Engineering (Pre-Sales), Product Management, Engineering, Customer Support, and Finance as part of Rekor’s shared services model. The Project Manager ensures timely delivery, strong financial oversight, high customer satisfaction, and alignment with business goals and the product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead and manage customer-facing deployments and integration projects for the Scout platform from initiation through closeout.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, risk registers, and status updates.
- Monitor project scope, budget, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business and customer expectations.
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between sales/field teams and internal shared services (product, engineering, customer support, solution engineering, and finance).
- Work closely with Solution Engineering to ensure smooth transition from pre-sales scoping to implementation.
- Collaborate with Product Management to align project deliverables with product roadmap and feature availability.
- Coordinate with Engineering to manage priorities, capacity, and resolution of technical dependencies.
- Partner with Finance to track project-related budgets, invoicing milestones, margin analysis, and customer financial obligations.
3. Customer Engagement
- Serve as the key point of contact for customer project managers, technical leads, and operations personnel.
- Facilitate effective communication and progress tracking with external stakeholders.
- Lead customer onboarding activities and establish mechanisms for project reporting and escalation.
4. Operational Excellence
- Implement and standardize project management best practices, tools, and templates across Scout deployments.
- Identify and proactively address operational risks, delays, or blockers.
- Provide input into the continuous improvement of delivery methodologies, documentation, and support models.
5. Reporting & Metrics
- Track project performance against KPIs including delivery time, customer satisfaction, issue resolution time, financial targets, and change request volume.
- Generate regular internal and external project status reports, including financial status updates in coordination with Finance.
- Provide feedback loops to Sales, Product, Engineering, and Finance to inform go-to-market strategy, product enhancements, and pricing models.
Key Interfaces:
- Sales & Field Teams: Understand customer needs, manage expectations, and support account growth.
- Solution Engineering (Pre-Sales): Clarify technical scope, confirm feasibility, and ensure alignment of solutions sold and delivered.
- Product Management: Synchronize customer use cases with product development timelines and feature availability.
- Engineering: Coordinate technical resource scheduling, bug/issue resolution, and deployment readiness.
- Customer Support: Ensure smooth post-implementation handover and proactive service continuity.
- Finance: Collaborate on project financials, billing schedules, revenue recognition, and overall financial health of deployments.
Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of experience in project management within SaaS, ITS, or transportation technology environments.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional software and platform deployments with financial accountability.
- Strong understanding of Agile and/or hybrid project management methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management, financial acumen, and communication skills.
- PMP or similar certification is a plus.
