The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Project Director to lead the implementation of a data warehouse or data lake within Singapore's Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful project delivery using cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS and will be well-versed in the intricacies of managing large-scale, complex IT projects in a government setting. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the end-to-end implementation of a data warehouse or data lake on Singapore's Government Commercial Cloud, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. 

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan that encompasses all project activities, from initial conception through to deployment and post-implementation support. 

• Lead a multidisciplinary project team, providing guidance and support to ensure that all team members are aligned with the project objectives and are performing at their best. 

• Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including agency officials, cloud service providers, and third-party vendors. 

• Manage project risks and issues proactively, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on the project timeline and deliverables. 

• Monitor project progress and provide regular status reports to senior management and other key stakeholders. 

• Facilitate the resolution of any technical challenges or bottlenecks that may arise during the project lifecycle. 

• Manage the project budget, including forecasting, allocation of resources, and cost control measures. 

• Champion the adoption of project management best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes within the organization. 

To qualify for the role, you will need:

• A minimum of 12 years of experience in project management, with a focus on IT and cloud-based solutions. 

• Demonstrated experience in implementing data warehouses or data lakes/ data migartion, preferably within a Government Cloud environment in Singapore. 

• Seasoned expertise in managing large-scale projects using cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS. 

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams. 

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization and with external partners. 

• A relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 

• Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are highly desirable.
