Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose of Position:

The Google & Other AI Product Manger supports & executes a product strategy in the achievement of desired product line growth and profitability under the guidance of the HSDC (Hyper Scale Data Center) team. Success is achieved through orchestrating business activities of Other Account PMs, Regional PLMs, Sales, Market Development, AIR (Account Insight Research), Customer Care, Product Development/Technology and Manufacturing.

Scope:

Google & Other AI customer (i.e., Tesla/X) products (Global).

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Act as account primary internal POC (point of contact) for all matrix functions globally.
  • Drive execution & alignment for all product line activities for Google and other AI.
  • Drive alignment with Market Dev, Sales, AIR to facilitate NPI to manufacturing and supply chain globally in an uncertain environment fast and agile.
  • Drive alignment between global functions and the regions.
  • Develop & vet new product ideas – business cases and initiate development projects (PPW).
  • Carry out / champion product launches with regional PLMs, technology, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
  • Execute & support pricing strategies in alignment with regional PLMs.
  • Serve as the product expert for customers / sales / engineers.
  • Support product promotions (with marketing) in alignment with regional PLMs.
  • Lead project / RFx responses w/ commercial and regional PLMs.
  • Contribute to the overall Account Strategy and participate in the Regional Product Teams as appropriate.
  • Support Supply Chain and the forecast process, work with the Customer and the commercial to drive the SNOP process (capacity, materials).
  • Oversee the supply process, drive the SLA from Forecast to timely delivery, initiated process improvements for sustainable performance.
  • Drive Cost/Profitability for the account, initiate CR projects globally aligned with the affected product lines.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's in a technical area or equivalent degree with analytical background.

Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Product Line Management, Marketing, Manufacturing, or Engineering in an engineering based, fast paced and customer-focused environment.
  • Detailed understanding of HSDC architecture and products.
  • Ability to drive technology projects both internally and externally.

Required Skills:

  • Fluent command of the English language and able to compose and communicate both in written and verbal formats complex business and technical issues to the various levels inside and outside of the organization.
  • Possess strong business and analytical skills including the understanding of financial statements and spreadsheet software.
  • Experience with strategy development and execution.
  • Possess strong work ethic and attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Data Center, Carrier, and In-Building networks and familiarity with product specifications.
  • Experience in product introduction, analysis, and development of product/market strategies.
  • Experience dealing with global customers and markets.
  • Knowledge of Corning Data Center product solutions.
  • Adept at developing and presenting value propositions to a wide variety of customers.

The range for this position is  $121,205.00   -  $166,657.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
