Analyze business/project requirements and select relevant data and tools for usage in LLMs, AI models, and applications
Key member of projects to implement AI and related technologies to digitize and automate Covestro’s end-to-end Research and Development processes.
Integrate technologies such as conventional machine learning, robotics, software engineering, etc. with Generative Artificial Intelligence in novel ways.
Develop, maintain, and automate data pipelines for chemical LLMs
Develop, maintain, and automate models and methods for ensuring confidentiality of information accessed by or used to train LLMs
Maintain and ensure reliable operation of existing AI solutions
Collaborate with cloud architects for automation, maintenance, and monitoring of pipeline solutions
Periodic technical supervision of summer interns and/or technical trainees.
Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD with at least 2+ years of relevant experience in fields such as mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, technology (STEM), or equivalent.
PhD preferred
Prior experience with Generative AI techniques applied to LLM learning, pre-training, fine-tuning, RLHF and retrieval augmented generation.
Practical background and experience in software development with Python and experienced with machine learning libraries and frameworks, including, PyTorch, huggingface, langchain, scikit-learn, OpenAI and Anthropic APIs.
Knowledge of using and configuring indexing tools (RAG, Vector Databases, etc.)
General knowledge of cloud services (AWS preferred)
Understanding the basics of polymer chemistry, particularly related to collection of and processing of R&D data in this field.
