We are seeking a talented individual to join our Data Science team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Dublin.

This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As our Principal Data Scientist, you will be at the forefront of data science change for Marsh McLennan (MMC) sharing your expertise to help shape how MMC best use analytics and data, maintaining the highest levels of consistency and integrity.

We will look for your ideas on the methodologies, technology & techniques to apply, developing new algorithms too. Leveraging data to drive business insights, develop methodologies and propose innovative solutions.

Collaborating with Global colleagues in development, product engineering & solution delivery, together you will help deliver high-quality products for Sentrisk, an AI-powered global supply chain risk solution, developed by MMC.

We will count on you to:

  • Develop and execute a data science strategy aligned with the products goals.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of models/algorithms.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and patterns related to supply chain risk, natural and geopolitical hazards, providing strategic recommendations for product development and enhancements
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, and analysts to gather requirements and deliver data-driven insights
  • Establish and enforce best practices for data science methodologies, including data collection, preprocessing, model validation, and performance monitoring
  • Keep an eye on industry trends and emerging technologies in data science

What you need to have: 

  • Proven expertise in Data Science, Data Engineering and or ML.
  • Ability or experience working autonomously across a global organisation
  • Experience of or ability to identify appropriate methodologies, technologies & techniques
  • Experience with data querying and manipulation, as well as familiarity with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)

What makes you stand out?

  • Proficiency with GenAI tools and approaches
  • Software development or programming experience, ideally in Python.
  • Computer Science PhD or degree or equivalent working experience.

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office.
