ABOUT THE ROLEAs Trustly's Principal Data Scientist, you will lead the organization's data science initiatives and provide strategic direction on how data is utilized across the company. In this critical role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the data science roadmap, driving innovation in machine learning, and ensuring Trustly's data assets are leveraged to their fullest potential to enhance product offerings and business decisions.You'll work closely with senior leadership, including engineering, product, and operations teams, to build a data-driven culture and deliver advanced analytical solutions that address core business challenges. This is a highly visible role that requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and business acumen.
WHO YOU'LL WORK WITHThe Data Science team at Trustly operates at the intersection of data, technology, and product. We are passionate about leveraging data to drive innovation in payment processing and to enhance security and user experience. You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to deliver solutions that have a tangible impact on our business.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Define and execute the overall data science and AI strategy for Trustly.
  • Develop and deploy machine learning models that enhance Trustly's products and services.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to translate business goals into data-driven solutions.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of advanced analytics tools and techniques.
  • Drive the adoption of AI and machine learning technologies across the organization.
  • Ensure the company’s data assets are leveraged optimally for strategic and operational excellence.
  • Monitor and improve data governance, security, and compliance across all data-related activities.
  • Stay on the cutting edge of data science trends and technologies, integrating new methodologies to maintain Trustly’s competitive edge.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, AI, or a related field.
  • Deep expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical analysis, and data mining techniques.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala, and experience with data science frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and others.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Passionate about leveraging data to solve real-world business problems and drive innovation.
  • A visionary leader who is comfortable driving data strategy at the executive level.
