Polymathic AI is looking for full-time Research Scientists to join our team in building next-generation Foundation Models for Science at NYU CDS. Recent breakthroughs in Large Language Models and diffusion-based generative models have propelled AI into new frontiers. At Polymathic AI, we are harnessing these advances to develop powerful, interpretable AI models with transformative applications across scientific disciplines—from astrophysics and biology to solar physics and material sciences.
As part of our team, you'll collaborate with leading researchers from diverse scientific domains, pushing the boundaries of AI to solve some of the most pressing scientific challenges. Conduct cutting-edge research at the intersection of AI and science
Develop large-scale deep learning models for scientific discovery
Work closely with experts in machine learning, domain sciences, and AI
Contribute to the development of interpretable and high-performing AI models
Develop and train large AI models for science
Collaborate and/or mentor other students, postdocs, Software Engineers, Research Analysts and Research Scientists.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the full-time annual compensation range for the Research Scientist level is $120,000 - $250,000 depending on experience.

This full-time, fixed-term position is based on-site at NYU’s Center for Data Science in New York City, with an initial one-year appointment and potential for extension.

Deadline
Experience in developing novel ML architectures
Expertise in developing and training large AI models is preferred
Research expertise in one major area of computational science is preferred.
Proficiency in Python and either PyTorch or JAX
Experience with HPC, GPU is preferred
