PhD Position in MR Physics, Machine Learning, and Signal Modelling
The MR Physics group at the University of Lübeck (Germany) is seeking a talented and highly motivated PhD student to join our group in 2025.
Our Research: Our MR Physics group is based both at the University of Lübeck and at the University Medical Centre Hamburg Eppendorf (UKE). We also closely collaborate with the MPI in Leipzig (Director: Nikolaus Weiskopf) on ultra-highfield MRI (7T) and ultra-strong diffusion gradients (3T Connectom).
A primary research focus of our group is the development and validation of MR-based biophysical models to estimate specific microstructure tissue parameters such as the MR-based g-ratio (a measure of axonal conduction velocity), cell and axon radii distribution, or myelin and iron density using in vivo and ex vivo MRI as well as ex vivo histology. The successful candidates will work together with our group on the ERC project “MRStain - Non-invasive staining of tissue microstructure in temporal lobe epilepsy using in-vivo MRI”.
