Shield AI’s mission is to protect the lives of service members and civilians with intelligent systems. The Electrical Engineering team and the Hardware Test Engineering team contributes to this effort by designing and deploying numerous in-house designed circuit boards, which operate both in the air and in our factories. These PCBAs are used to operate the aircraft in flight, and to perform component and system-level testing during production. In this role, you will rework and assemble PCBAs of varying complexity, from 0201 components and BGAs to large through-hole passives and connectors. You will specify the necessary equipment for and built out a rework station where you will perform your work. Help us save lives as we strive to deliver the most highly reliable aerospace hardware in the industry.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Rework and assemble PCBAs, including BGAs, 0201 components, etc…
  • Specify the equipment needed for and build out a rework station.
  • Offer your expert opinion to engineers during design reviews for component placement, manufacturability, etc…
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years of experience reworking PCBAs.
  • Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) for PCBA rework (IPC-7711/7721 or similar).
  • Ability to specify the optimal rework or assembly process for a given operation.
  • Experience performing rework from engineering redlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate rework skillset during interview process.
  • Demonstrated history of showing ownership of project outcomes and delivering exceptional results.
  • Record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Standards Expert (CSE) for PCBA rework (IPC-7711/7721 or similar).
  • Experience with reflow machines for simple 2-sided boards.
  • Ability to make harnesses (IPC/WHMA-A-620 or similar).
  • Experience with both leaded and unleaded soldering processes.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, agility, and the ability to innovate under pressure to meet dynamic project demands and drive successful outcomes.
