As the Payroll Team Lead, you will oversee the end-to-end payroll processes for employees across multiple global regions, including the US, Canada, EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa), and APAC (Asia-Pacific). In this leadership role, you will guide a team of payroll specialists, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with regional and international tax laws, and adherence to employment regulations. You will collaborate closely with HR, finance, and external vendors, playing a pivotal role in enhancing payroll efficiency, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting the seamless integration of payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of payroll specialists responsible for processing payroll across the US, Canada, EMEA, and APAC regions, ensuring payroll is accurate and delivered on time.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and provincial tax regulations, labor laws for the US and Canada, and adherence to payroll regulations and tax laws in EMEA and APAC regions.
  • Oversee the review of payroll data for accuracy, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and prepare detailed reports on payroll expenses, taxes, and benefits.
  • Work closely with HR, finance, and external vendors to ensure smooth integration of payroll data, benefits administration, and compliance with regional tax systems and regulations.
  • Lead payroll audits, reconciliations, and compliance reviews across multiple regions, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and organizational policies.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across all payroll cycles. Provide insights to streamline operations and reduce manual work.
  • Support the integration of new payroll systems or upgrades, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements and operational efficiency goals. Lead training initiatives for payroll systems and tools.
  • Mentor and develop the payroll team, ensuring ongoing training, knowledge-sharing, and skill development to enhance the team’s performance and expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • 7+ years of payroll experience, including a strong focus on US, Canada, EMEA, and APAC payroll operations.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing payroll teams.
  • Deep knowledge of payroll processes, tax laws, and employment regulations across the US, Canada, EMEA, and APAC regions.
  • Experience working with global payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Bamboo HR) and proficiency in payroll management tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex payroll data and identify areas for improvement.
