About the Role

As a Partner Engineer at Thatch, you'll play a crucial role in integrating and supporting our external partners building on Thatch for Platforms. You'll work directly with external teams to enable seamless implementations, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure successful deployments. Your work will bridge the gap between our internal engineering team and external partners, making it easier for partners to offer and manage embedded health benefits via Thatch.

We're looking for engineers who thrive in highly collaborative environments, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy solving complex technical problems. You should have experience building and maintaining APIs, integrating third-party systems, and debugging production issues in real-world environments.

What You’ll Do

• Build and execute: Bring the product to life by building demos for partners, shaping their integrations, and ensuring a seamless experience for their end users (employees at companies using Thatch for benefits).
• Drive collaboration: Work cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, sales, legal, and leadership to create an exceptional platform offering.
• Work with customers: Conduct partner and customer interviews to understand needs, challenges, and opportunities, leveraging these insights to inform product and strategy decisions.
• Own the process: Organize complex projects, keep stakeholders informed, and communicate progress and learnings to the company and leadership.
• Shape the product: Launch and continuously improve a product that enables partners to deliver Thatch to thousands — and eventually millions — of businesses and their employees.

Background We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience working as a partner engineer, solutions engineer, or a similar role at a high-growth tech company.
• A proven ability to take ideas from concept to reality, with a track record of delivering impactful results.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into actionable strategies and clearly convey them to diverse audiences.
• A knack for creating systems from scratch, thriving in ambiguity, and operating with autonomy.
• Relentless determination and a willingness to tackle challenges with enthusiasm.

Experience We’d Be Particularly Excited About

• Experience or strong interest in healthcare, benefits, or financial technology.
• Background in working with APIs, embedded platforms, or partner ecosystems.
• Understanding of payroll systems, HRIS platforms, or other benefit-delivery systems.
• Leadership experience in engineering or product teams.
• Strong prototyping experience and the ability to quickly create bespoke full-stack demos.
• Optimism and creativity in solving big, systemic challenges.
