To perform MRI examinations for the units/clinics and the Medical Imaging Department of the American Hospital. Under general supervision, establishes, oversees and co-ordinates (MRI) scanning protocols and procedures for clinical diagnostic purposes. To supervise and train lower level technologists and students engaged in the specialities. To be part of all procedures and processes that allow the Medical Imaging Department in  providing a high standard of service and patient care by assessing , monitoring , participating and assisting in the daily administration duties, infection control /risk management , quality improvement and departmental / hospital wide in-services

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging procedures and technology. 
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control. 
  • Ability to operate high field clinical magnetic resonance imaging scanners and multi-slice scanners. 
  • Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards. 
  • Records maintenance skills. 
  • Ability to develop, adapt, and/or modify MRI protocol, procedures, and operating standards. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of MRI imaging principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment. 
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. 
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures. 
  • Ability to coordinate quality assurance programs in area of specialty. 
  • Knowledge of specifications, standards, and tolerances for the operation of MRI equipment and facilities. 
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns. 
  • Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. 
  • Knowledge of field research and data collection principles, methods, and techniques. 
  • Knowledge of data collection techniques. 
  • Ability to analyse and interpret research data in area of specialty. 
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. 
  • Knowledge of current and developing legal issues and trends in area of expertise. 
  • Technical problem solving skills within area of specialty. 

POSITION QUALIFICATION:

  • Graduate of an accredited School , University ,or Institution from where the qualification permits registration with the ARRT or it’s equivalent.
  • Current Registered Licensure in country of citizenship or professional practice.
  • Knowledge of JCIA or accreditation standards.
  • Knowledge of QI/CQI/PI philosophy.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • At least five  (5)  years of recent  MRI experience, with current clinical experience of  (5) years
  • Evidence of continuing education.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of personal computers; computer literacy preferred.
  • Knowledge of Middle Eastern customs is advantageous
