Job Description

We are seeking a Machine Learning (ML) Engineer to support our Fortune 100 client, a global provider of healthcare and retail pharmacy services, in building industry-leading analytics, data, and technology platforms to help reimagine health care.  This position will serve a critical role within a cross-functional team to develop and optimize ML models, refactor codebases, and contribute to overall software architecture.

Your efforts will play a pivotal role in driving advancements in pharmaceutical research, pricing strategy, medication optimization, and clinical data analysis.

  • Location: Fully remote within U.S. (Eastern or Central Time preferred)
  • Duration: Through end of 2024 with likely extension; potential for conversion to hire

What you’ll do:

  • Generate insights, build machine learning, deep learning, and statistical predictive models and develop analytical approaches which form the foundation for driving patient engagement tactics aimed at improving medication adherence and patient experience.
  • Implement, fine-tune, and deploy ML models that support various pharmaceutical applications, including drug discovery, patient data analysis, and operational efficiencies.
  • Lead the refactoring of existing codebases to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability. Design and develop efficient APIs for integrating ML models into existing software systems.
  • Apply software engineering principles to design modular, scalable, and testable code, ensuring alignment with industry best practices for version control, code optimization, and testing methodologies.
  • Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to ensure that ML solutions are integrated seamlessly into the organization's technological infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in machine learning, software engineering, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with Big Data Technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, including version control, code optimization, and testing.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing, optimizing, and maintaining ML models in production environments.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Additional Information

This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

The starting pay range for this role is $70.00 - $75.00 per hour. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, training, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range and determining factors for compensation are considered for each individual circumstance.
