IAV S Gifhorn
IAV Fahrzeugsicherheit GmbH & Co. KG is a competent and reliable partner for the automotive industry in the field of vehicle safety. In order to be able to protect occupants in future vehicles in the event of accidents, vehicle safety must already have answers to tomorrow's questions today. New vehicles are equipped with an interior camera for vehicle occupant monitoring. This also enables the integration of other functions such as seat assignment and seat belt detection using image processing methods. To ensure that seat belt detection can also cover “misuse” cases, a generic deep learning method is to be used in this thesis to segment vehicle seats, seat belt buckles, lap and chest belts and the bodies of people. The thesis comprises a 3-month internship followed by a 6-month thesis. If the scientific results are of a correspondingly high quality, the thesis should conclude with the publication of a scientific article.
