We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied Master thesis in the area of UX Design for Generative AI in Pro Workflows. As a thesis student, you will contribute to our research on human-AI interaction by designing user interfaces and input methods for generative AI image tools, addressing challenges faced by designers, such as developing visual input methods and creating solutions that support various phases of the design workflow.

What awaits you?

• Conduct a literature review on user interfaces and input methods for generative AI image systems, focusing on HCI research.
• Develop and propose concepts to make generative AI systems more user-friendly and effective for professional designers, such as visual input-based interfaces or other practical solutions.
• Implement interactive prototypes to test new input methods and interface concepts.
• Conduct user studies to assess prototypes, analyze the collected data, and develop design recommendations based on the findings.

Please note that your thesis must be supervised by a university on your part.

What should you bring along?

• Enrollment in a master’s program in Media Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, Human Factors, Psychology, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in: Web application development (e.g., JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python), API integration (e.g., OpenAI or Stable Diffusion), Version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience in planning, conducting, and analyzing user studies.
• A structured and independent working style with self-initiative.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
