Figure is an AI Robotics company building a general-purpose humanoid robot, Figure 03, designed to perform useful commercial tasks and ultimately assist in the home. We are headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA and operate in a fast-paced, hardware-first environment. We’re looking for world-class engineers to help us bring hardware, software, and AI together. It’s time to build.
We are hiring a Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead the development and implementation of end-of-line (EoL) testing for our humanoid robot. You’ll own the test infrastructure and software that validates critical subsystems, unblock the line when failures occur, and coordinate with engineering teams to improve testability and manufacturability.
Responsibilities:
- Own and develop end-of-line (EoL) test software and processes for custom robot subsystems and components.
- Prototype and validate test solutions at Figure HQ, document procedures, and deploy to external manufacturing sites.
- Continuously improve test coverage, robustness, and usability by working closely with perception, mechanical, electrical, integration, and manufacturing teams.
- Respond to test failures in real time—triage issues, coordinate root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to resolution.
- Support bring-up and debug of new hardware on the line.
- Interface with contract manufacturers and support overseas deployments and training.
Requirements:
- Proven experience owning manufacturing test software for electromechanical systems or embedded hardware products.
- Strong proficiency in Python; familiarity with C++.
- Hands-on systems-level debugging and troubleshooting skills in fast-paced build and test environments.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and integration of test results.
- Familiarity with calibration and testing of complex systems such as vision sensors, IMUs, stereo/depth cameras, or displays.
- Strong communication and planning skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with RF testing and analysis.
- Experience working with third-party manufacturers or overseas vendors.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 40%.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with automated hardware calibration workflows, especially in multi-sensor systems.
- Exposure to robotics or autonomous systems development.
- Knowledge of electrical compliance and safety testing (e.g., EMC, ESD standards).
