Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II) in the School of Computing and Data Science (Ref.: 531910) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal).
We seek a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead a team of administrators in supporting and overseeing strategic academic programme expansion of the School of Computing and Data Science. Reporting to the School Secretary, this role is a key member of the strategic project team. The appointee is expected to develop School policy related to academic administration at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, support the administration and development of specialised undergraduate and master’s programmes, including admissions, programme operations, academic coordination, serving as secretary for various committees, and interacting with students and other stakeholders in the University. He/she will be responsible for the development and execution of digital communications strategy scoped by the projects. He/she will liaise with multiple external vendors, supervise and train junior staff, assist in the implementation of the School’s mainland initiative activities, and perform other duties as assigned. He/she is expected to travel to the Mainland China occasionally.
Applicants should possess a good Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years’ work experience in higher education or the education sector in general. They should also have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese). They should be versatile in general office administration and project management, and preferably with supervisory experience. They are expected to work independently with initiative, be team players with the ability to multi-task. They should have exceptional interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills. A high level of computer literacy is required, and working knowledge/experience in mainland relations is a plus. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
