About Us

Our team comes with over a decade of industry and research experience from top organizations and labs like CMU, Berkeley AI Research Lab, Google Brain, Scale AI, and Qualcomm. We've previously founded and sold companies and created products used over 30 million times. Our team has also published research papers and won research competitions at top conferences like ICLR and AAAI.
Role Description
As a Machine Learning Research Engineer at Advex, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's technical direction. Your hands-on involvement will include working with our CTO to (1) spearhead research in solving the controllability problem for diffusion models and (2) build our core product and engage directly with our customers. As we expand, you will contribute heavily to the architectural roadmap, laying the foundation for the Advex platform. Your technical leadership will be instrumental in supporting and growing our engineering and product teams.

We are seeking an individual who is strategic, capable of transforming research constraints and product specifications into an enterprise-ready application. We value self-starters who aren't afraid to dive into the details and iterate on prototypes in the early stages of development.
About You
We are seeking a candidate who embodies the following qualifications and characteristics:
2 to 5 years of industry experience in Deep Learning and computer vision
Prior experience working at a startup
Experiences in end to end ML application development, including data engineering, model tuning, and model serving
Technical expertise demonstrated through published papers or industry experience:
Representation learning – SSL, VAE, Dino, SAM
(bonus) Vision language models
(bonus) Diffusion – latent diffusion models, unconditional image generation
Proven track record of rapidly delivering complex project within tight deadlines
Ability to make critical decisions with little information
Excel at identifying bottlenecks and gaps within research papers and swiftly translating them into code.
