TEAMThe Toyota Woven City is a fully connected ecosystem powered by hydrogen fuel cells to be built at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. It is envisioned as a ‘living laboratory’ and ‘ever-evolving,’ incorporating different types of modern technologies. At the same time, it is also ‘human-centric,’ that is, it will keep people safe and comfortable. 
Woven City’s R&D team will develop products and services using technologies developed by Toyota Motor Corporation. Our mission is to: 1.  Develop services and products for Woven City2.  Expand capabilities through long-term R&D
Toyota Motor Corporation has been involved in a variety of technological development in the  robotics, energy, and automotive domains for a long time. Our team will use Toyota’s hardware expertise in these fields to create new value by developing software on top of this. 
Our team will develop services that are essential to the city. As a first party developer, we will also build a foundation upon which third-party partners can participate. Therefore, we are responsible for not just the applications but also primary software and capabilities.
Our team consists of many experienced members with international work experience. We aim to be open minded as we create a new culture with members from different backgrounds and nationalities. Our global team works with the Toyota Motor Corporation and the Toyota Research Institute in North America to develop our technologies and products.
We are looking for experienced people to join us as we take on new challenges to create new products and services for the Toyota Woven City.
You will report to lead of the function and the work style is hybrid.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FORWe are looking for experienced Machine Learning engineer/Data Scientist, to analyze various data such as human demographic, psychographic, vital, photos, essays and others. 
Our daily tasks include technical R&D, proof-of-concept (POC), system design, infrastructure design, system integration for model inference, building service pipelines, and etc. Skills in modern software development and solid experiences in developing real-time systems are necessary .

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Research, develop, and demonstrate human simulation AI PoC
• Collect data and develop machine learning product/services, (build, verify, and deploy models)
• Make technical judgment in working with cross-functional teams 
• Build and optimize ML pipeline from data curation to automatic model serving

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Strong experience of machine learning and the framework (e.g. tensorflow, pytorch, Computer vision libraries, NLP libraries, etc.)
• Experience in system architecture and infrastructure design on Cloud i.e. AWS services, EKS, etc.
• Business level skills of English and Japanese

NICE TO HAVES:

• Experience in product development using machine learning. (i.e. recommendation, sales forecast, AI-assistant bot, etc.)
• Higher motivation for catching up with the latest technologies
• Quick implementation skills from the the latest research papers
• Experience in natural language, vision, speech, behavior data processing.
