About the team
Be one of our first interns on our LLM Global Data Team, you'll be at the heart of our operations to make our models safe! Gain first-hand experience in understanding the intricacies of training Large Language Models (LLMs) by designing and executing adversarial attacks.
We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2024. Internships at ByteDance aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. Watch your ambitions become reality as your inspiration brings infinite opportunities at ByteDance.
Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following internship cycles below:
1. Summer Internship - 06 May 2024 to 26 July 2024 (12 weeks)
2. Off cycle / Credit bearing - March 2024 or 12 August 2024
We will prioritise candidates who are able to commit to a minimum 3-month internship period. Please state your availability clearly in your resume (Start date, End date).
Candidates can apply to a maximum of two positions and will be considered for jobs in the order you apply. The application limit is applicable to ByteDance and its affiliates' jobs globally. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis - we encourage you to apply early.
Your role may involve:
1. Work closely with LLM Global Data core teams to devise red-team strategies for LLM alignment;
2. Execute red-teaming tests or adversarial attacks, and generate comprehensive reports, which include but are not limited to, vulnerability assessments；
3. Work with internal researchers on monitoring the latest developments and industry best practices on red-teaming;
4. Contribute to LLM safety system design.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Direct research experience in SOTA AI safety/security topics such as RLHF, adversarial training, robustness, and more;
- Passionate about LLM and LLM security. Must be an enthusiastic learner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Past internship experience or schoolwork demonstrating skills in LLM adversarial attacks or jail-breaking methods;
- Proficient in SQL and one of the programming languages, such as Python, and Java;
- Experience in project management, such as Agile, and Scrum.
