As the dedicated designer on your product team, you’ll contribute to overall strategy and decision-making about product direction and advocate for the creation of a useful, fun, and engaging experience that truly helps people develop key technology skills.

About your team

You will be part of the Phoenix Team, a small cross-functional team working to create an AI-powered mentorship experience. With the Phoenix Team, you’ll have the opportunity to fundamentally reshape online learning by leveraging Workera’s unique skills data and an AI-native approach.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll leverage qualitative and quantitative data to validate design decisions. You’ll contribute to a library of insights to evangelize customer needs across the org.
  • You’ll shape customer problems and opportunities, refining insights and wireframing new experiences. You’ll rapidly iterate via low-fidelity prototypes.
  • You’ll work in close collaboration with engineers to diverge and converge from the rough shape of a solution to high-fidelity visuals, polishing every detail of new interfaces and experiences.
  • You’ll experiment with the latest generative AI technologies.
  • Along the way, you will have support and collaboration from your product design teammates to help ensure a consistent, quality experience for customers.
  • You’ll use, contribute to, and help evolve Workera’s design system and visual language.

*Please note as we are a dynamic and quickly growing scale-up, things are always subject to change*

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years designing digital products (UX + UI)
  • Experience with design systems and strong system-level thinking
  • Ability to design simple solutions to complex user problems
  • Humility and willingness to act on design feedback in an iterative process
  • While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have
    • Experience designing B2B SaaS solutions
    • Familiarity with the corporate skills development industry

Who you are

  • Experienced. You have a proven track record of collaborating with a product team to ship successful products for several years and have worked on products people depend on.
  • A Craftsperson. You care deeply and over-invest in well-crafted interaction and visual design that makes the customer experience feel human, helpful, and delightful. You leverage prototyping skills to articulate your designs, especially in cases where interactions may be particularly nuanced.
  • Focused on the outcome. You take full ownership of your work and take responsibility for every last detail and step from initial concept to final implementation. You will thrive by showing your team how customer problems are solved through user flows, sketches, prototypes, wireframes, and visual design.
  • Opportunistic. You are comfortable using quantitative and qualitative insights to guide our product focus. You are able to define and justify meaningful opportunities based on business outcomes. You have a proven ability to deliver excellent UI/UX even with limitations of scale.
  • A problem solver. You are an expert practitioner of design thinking. You are able to think about the forest and the trees. You love making complex things feel simple.
  • Determined and scrappy. You don’t give up easily. You take initiative and proactively get things done in an ambiguous environment or situation. You always seek to deepen your understanding and create clarity.
  • Passionate about education. As a plus, you have experience with designing for learning and are familiar with the online learning technology landscape.
  • Proficiency in utilizing AI tools such as ChatGPT or equivalent digital assistants and applying them effectively within your work context.
