A Brief Overview

Extracts knowledge and insights from data in order to investigate complex business problems through a range of data preparation, modeling, analysis and/or visualization techniques, including predictive analysis, business intelligence, pattern recognition, operational effectiveness and/or economic forecasting. Key skills include data analysis techniques (e.g., A/B testing, association rule learning, cluster analysis, pattern recognition and predictive modeling), object-oriented programming languages (Java, Python, R, Ruby, Scala, C++) and/or data engineering skills (relational or NoSQL databases, ETL tools).

What you will do

  • Executes data science projects and deliverables, taking ownership of assigned tasks and ensuring their successful completion.
  • Defines data science strategies and methodologies for specific projects, applying domain knowledge and expertise to drive impactful outcomes.
  • Conducts risk assessments for data science initiatives, identifying potential vulnerabilities and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Develops and implements data governance policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, privacy, and ethical use of healthcare data.
  • Acts as a top level specialist analyzing the organization's data science needs, capabilities, and gaps to identify opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations for optimization.
  • Executes risk assessments for data science initiatives, identifying potential vulnerabilities and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborates with multiple departments to contribute data-driven insights, expertise, and solutions to address healthcare challenges.
  • Manages team performance through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation, and team development.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously enhancing skills and knowledge to contribute effectively as an independent contributor in the field of data science.

For this role you will need Minimum Requirements

  • 7-10 years work experience

  • Adept at business intelligence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Data Scientist preferred.

Education

  • Master's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$130,295.00 - $260,590.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
