How will I help?  

As a Lead Data Scientist, you will lead the development and implementation of Data Science, AI and Innovation Strategies in the Chief Data Office for the Business and Wealth division. You will be responsible for identifying and delivering innovative solutions to enhance the bank's customer experience, drive operational efficiency and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Lead a team of data scientists and analytics specialists to deliver on Business & Wealth data science, AI and innovation objectives
• Develop and maintain a strong network of internal stakeholders to orchestrate and build support for data science, AI and innovation initiatives
• Collaborate with Lines of Businesses and Business Units to identify and prioritize opportunities for data science, AI and innovation for the division
• Develop and implement data science, machine learning and innovation strategies/roadmap that align with Business & Wealth overall goals and objectives
• Lead the development and deployment of predictive modelling, machine learning and other techniques to support data driven decision-making.
• Drive innovation within Business & Wealth by identifying new opportunities, exploring emerging technologies and implementing new solutions that support business objectives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to access the latest technology and innovation trends
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in the delivery of data science and innovation projects
• Communicate the value of advanced analytics and innovation to senior leaders and business units across the bank.

What do I need? 

• Extensive demonstrable leadership experience managing data science, AI and innovation teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Depth of expertise and demonstrable experience in data science, AI and innovation roles, with a track record in design, build and implementation internally and externally to organisation.
• Strong technical expertise and experience in data science and AI. 
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong understanding of risk management in a complex environment and ensure adherence with Three Lines of Defence model and compliance obligations.
• Knowledge of the banking industry and financial products and services.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to deliver on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to think creatively and outside the box to identify new opportunities and solutions.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science or related field beneficial.
