What is this position about?

As a Lead Data Scientist, you will work closely with business leaders to solve complex customer behavior challenges and derive actionable marketing insights. This role requires strong analytical skills and business acumen to address diverse, open-ended questions driven by customer data.

The ideal candidate will excel in problem-solving, pivoting through ambiguity, and delivering impactful solutions. Your ability to leverage data insights to inform business decisions will be crucial in optimizing customer targeting strategies and improving business performance.

You may work 100% remotely if you are currently living in LATAM or you can always join us at the office in Montevideo, Uruguay!

Job Description

• Working with practice leaders and clients to understand business problems, industry context, data sources, risks, and constraints.
• Lead customer behavior analysis to provide insights into key business challenges, focusing on identifying trends, customer segments, and sales channel performance.
• Work extensively with SQL and Python to analyze large datasets, ensuring accurate and actionable insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement A/B testing and experimental designs, utilizing causal inference and classification modeling to optimize marketing strategies.
• Communicate findings through compelling visualizations and storytelling, tailoring presentations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Guide and mentor junior analysts, fostering their professional growth and contributing to team success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Advanced degree (MS) in Statistics, Math, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field preferred.
• 5+ years Professional experience in Data Science. 
• Demonstrated ability leading and mentoring data science teams.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Jupyter Notebooks.
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud platforms.
• Expertise in causal inference, A/B testing, and classification modeling.
• Strong data visualization and storytelling skills to effectively communicate complex insights.
• Strong problem-solving skills; ability to pivot complex data to answer business questions.
• Ability to handle ambiguity and solve open-ended problems through data analysis.
• Availability to work in Pacific Standard Time (PST)
