Accountabilities
Design, develop, and manage scalable and robust data infrastructure to support analytics and AI projects.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and delivery managers to define and drive the technical vision, ensuring alignment with product objectives and business needs.
Apply solid understanding of data warehousing concepts to optimize data storage solutions.
Maintain detailed technical designs, refine user stories, and manage technical risks and resource allocation.
Lead and mentor technical teams (Data Engineering, AI, etc.) and work with AI/GenAI leads to foster collaboration and innovation.
Define and enforce governance frameworks for Data Engineering, including risk management and performance metrics.
Develop and implement advanced analytical data products to extract meaningful insights from large datasets.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, data security, and industry standards.
Continuously supervise and improve the performance of data systems and analytics solutions.
Ensure data solutions adhere to FAIR principles to enhance usability and sharing.
10+ years in data and software engineering.
Deep expertise in Data Engineering, Software Engineering and AI.
Proficiency in technologies like Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, Airflow and tools like Jira.
Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, Stored Procedures, and other database-related tasks.
Solid understanding of DevOps, DataOps, and product management.
Good understanding of Data Mesh and Data Product concepts.
Experience with automation strategies (CI/CD etc) and containerisation (Kubernetes, Docker) will be an advantage.
Good to have proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript etc.
Experience in developing and integrating applications using APIs will be a significant advantage.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure etc
Familiar with reporting solutions like PowerBI, Microstrategy, etc
Knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
Having experience in developing and deploying AI and machine learning applications will be beneficial.
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or similar large multinational environments.
Relevant certifications in data engineering, analytics, and AI are a plus.
