Own the technical strategy, architecture, and continuous improvement of enterprise SUSE Rancher fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Design multi-cluster, multi-DC topologies (HA etcd, air-gapped registries, Rancher Global Fleet).
• Define cluster baselines (CIS, NIST) and GitOps patterns; approve all CRDs and Helm charts.
• Govern version upgrades, capacity plans, and platform road-map.
• Lead root-cause analysis for Sev-1 incidents; chair the change-advisory board for Kubernetes.
• Mentor SRE, automation, and security engineers; run monthly knowledge-sharing sessions.

Core Skills & Tools
Kubernetes ≥1.27, Rancher 2.x/Neuvector, RKE2/K3s, Helm, FluxCD/Argo CD, HAProxy/Traefik, Longhorn/Portworx, Velero/Kasten, Service Mesh (Istio or Cilium), Terraform, Ansible, GitLab CI.

Qualifications

• 8+ yrs container & cloud-native experience, 3+ yrs in enterprise Kubernetes, large (>50-node) clusters.
• SUSE Certified Rancher Administrator (SCA_Ran) or CKA/CKS mandatory; CKAD desirable.
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent; ITIL v4 Foundation.
