Job Description:

The IT Automation Engineer is responsible for supporting automation initiatives using Ansible and other IT automation tools. They should have proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and/or PowerShell, programming in Python, C#, and other relevant languages for automation. They should also understand APIs and data formats such as JSON and/or YAML. The role requires a good understanding of IT administration in at least one of the following areas: network, storage, backup, OS administration, virtualization, server management, web/app administration, Kubernetes, database administration, and/or cloud administration. The role is categorized into Junior, Standard, and Senior levels based on experience and expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gather functional and technical requirements for basic automation tasks and document them
  • Assist in the development and configuration of automation scripts using Ansible and other IT automation tools. 
  • Support in building scripts in relevant scripting language required to automate tasks
  • Understand and utilize APIs and data formats such as JSON and YAML for automation tasks.
  • Document automation processes and provide technical support for
  • automation solutions.
  • Participate in testing and validation of automation scripts and tools.
  • Provide support for the Automation platform and related tools following Standard Operating Procedures

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Proficiency with Ansible and other IT automation tools.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell and/or JavaScript.
  • Programming experience in Python, C#, and other relevant languages for automation.
  • Understanding of APIs and data formats such as JSON and YAML.
  • Knowledge of IT administration in at least one of the following areas: network, storage, backup, OS administration, virtualization, server management, web/app administration, Kubernetes, database administration, and/or cloud administration.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for automation tasks.
  • Working with CI/CD pipelines and understanding the concepts of DevSecOps.
  • Experience in creating and deploying containers
