Education required: You are regularly enrolled in a Bachelor/Master in Physics or Life Sciences or Mathematics/Computer Science in an Educational Establishment located in Europe.
Language requirement: You are fluent in English.
Expected start date: As soon as possible.
Duration: 6-9 months.
Work arrangements: Hybrid
Requisite: The internship must be mandatory & done in the framework of the curriculum, for which an agreement must be signed between GSK, the student and the Educational Establishment.
Remuneration: according to Belgian legal requirements, the internship will not be paid. However, some expenses will be reimbursed.

Work with chemists and data scientists to help accelerate medicine development at GSK.
Develop innovative approaches to data curation, quality, and visualization for chemical matter and experiments.
Help materials scientists understand solid form development (turning a molecule into a pill) using computational tools.
You will build chemical databases leveraging tools like Arthor and RDKit.
You will build models to understand and predict the interactions between molecules using tools from cloud computing, machine learning and cheminformatics.
You will mine large databases such as the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) and GSK proprietary systems
You will present your results to scientists at internal meetings.
Keen interest in digital/computational chemistry.
Solid programming skills in Python, R or C++ (Python preferred).
Knowledge of version control tools.
Ideally some experience with HPC/cloud computing.
Adept at communicating with both chemists and data scientists.
