Our Global Internship Programme in Innovation & Sustainability (#IP2TIS) offers a unique opportunity for passionate individuals to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry while making a positive impact on the world.
Are you ready to join a global network spanning 20+ countries, where bright minds collaborate to tackle real-world challenges in Innovation & Sustainability? Do you want to work on impactful projects, shape the future, and drive change from within?
At Group Safety, Security, Health and Environment, we have regulatory obligations to report on environmental sustainability metrics internally and externally. Simultaneously, we are developing strategies to mitigate Roche's environmental impact. To support these efforts, we need robust data management, governance, and insights that will help us meet our reporting obligations, drive decision-making, and build data and digital strategies.
To improve data management, we are establishing data pipelines that automate the collection and reporting of these metrics, following the data mesh methodology and creating data products. This approach unlocks the potential for advanced analytics by building FAIR data (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) that we can trust. The scope of the internship is to focus on environmental metrics, particularly waste data, and support the creation and management of data products.
This internship position is located in Basel, on site/hybrid.
You are enrolled or have completed your Master’s studies at a university, preferably in the field of data science, environmental science, computer science or a combination thereof, within the last 12 months and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months and getting to know the pharmaceutical industry.
Highly motivated to change the way Roche collects, manages and reports environmental data
Able to work independently and achieve results
Have strong analytical skills
Have an understanding of data products and data mesh (preferred)
If you meet most but not all qualifications, we still encourage you to apply.
The start date for the internship is between 1st and 16th of July 2025
