The Opportunity
Join us as a Research Intern and contribute to one of Roche’s most innovative and forward-thinking initiatives—LLM-Powered Digital Twins for Precision Drug Discovery & Sustainable Clinical Trials. This project is redefining how AI, machine learning, and genomics intersect to revolutionize drug development and patient care, aligning with Roche’s 10-year ambition to deliver more targeted, effective, and sustainable healthcare solutions.
You will:
Work closely on the development and fine-tuning of Machine Learning (ML) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to simulate virtual patients (digital twins).
Analyze genomic and clinical datasets to assist in patient stratification and predictive modeling.
Assist in creating documentation, presentations, and technical reports summarizing insights and results.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in ML, LLMs, and digital twin technologies.
Take ownership of research problems, explore new ideas independently, and drive innovation through self-guided learning.
What you will gain:
Hands-on experience applying advanced AI/ML models in the pharmaceutical and healthcare domain.
Deep insight into how LLMs and digital twins can transform clinical trials and precision medicine.
Who You Are
You are enrolled or have completed your Bachelor’s / Master’s studies at a university, preferably in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Computational Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences within the last 12 months and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months and getting to know the pharmaceutical industry.
Furthermore you are
ML & LLM Experience: Prior experience working with Machine Learning models and Large Language Models (LLMs), with the ability to develop and fine-tune AI-driven simulations.
Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills to drive a robust communication strategy.
Self-Learner & Problem-Solving Attitude: Ability to explore new methodologies, experiment with different approaches, and figure out solutions independently when faced with challenges.
