Introduction to the Job

ASML US brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon.

The OnPulse Source Center (OPSC) team performs complex analysis and models on DUV light sources.  These analysis and models are used to quantify, predict, & capture failure events in order to help the business make quick decisions to better service our lasers for our customers

Role and Responsibilities

The primary project of the OPSC intern will be to code signatures to capture pulse to pulse based signatures on DUV light sources.  These signatures will be written in python and be used to capture different symptoms on the laser.  These symptoms can be used to predict failing parts and drive the service engineers to take action.

Responsibilities

  • Use python to capture signatures present within laser logs to perform auto-classification of beam quality events and other forms of laser logs.

  • Program and maintain scripts, queries, dashboards, data generators, canned reports and other end-user information portals or resources.

  • Understand, simplify, statistically analyze, and effectively interpret data and report problems through written and/or graphical formats.

  • Apply extensive knowledge of engineering concepts and practical engineering implementations to product development, typically covering more than one functional area of DUV systems to data interpretation.

  • Work with multiple types of technical datasets including the laser equipment, service records, part transaction & manufacturing.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or STEM related discipline with a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027.

  • Able to leverage programming for scripting (Python preferred) as well as for statistical analysis (Pandas, numpy, matplotlib, scipy preferred).

  • Basic understanding of statistics.

  • Ideal candidate has a background in the physical sciences/engineering and also has a background in programming.

Skills
