About Data Science (Analytics) at Wolt

Wolt analytics is a business-critical team driving decisions through data science and business intelligence. We’re a dynamic group of 180+ professionals across Finland, Sweden, Germany, and Estonia, all passionate about turning Wolt’s data into valuable insights.

While Wolt analytics' primary focus isn’t on developing ML models for production, we frequently work with them in the context of experimentation. Additionally, we utilize predictive modelling for impact assessments, foundational analyses, and annual/quarterly planning.

About the program

We’re looking for three Data Science (Analytics) interns to join our team in Helsinki 🙌

• The internship is paid - 3300 €/month
• The program will last for 6 months
• The start date of the program is set for June 2025

During this internship, you’ll use your analytical skills to extract actionable insights that support key business decisions. You’ll work hands-on with experimentation and quasi-experimental methods, contributing to impactful business decisions at Wolt!

You’ll have a dedicated, experienced mentor who will coach you during these 6 months.

About the domains

Data Scientists at Wolt generally work as embedded in a team on one particular domain at a time. This means we are working as close as possible where the decisions are made, and hence get to participate in decision-making themselves. 

In this role you would get to collaborate closely with one of our embedded analytics teams in Consumer, Merchant, or Courier & Logistics domains.

As a Data Science intern at Wolt, you’ll get to…

• Step up to the challenge of working on real-world data analytics projects, contributing to the insights that drive decision-making across the business.
• Learn from experienced data scientists and work closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to better understand Wolt’s marketplace dynamics.
• Be the driving force behind actionable insights, helping our teams predict long-term trends and optimize strategies.
• Contribute to product development by sharing recommendations based on statistical techniques in Python, R, or similar, that directly impact business decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems, leverage exploratory data analysis, and assist in building predictive models.
• Gain hands-on experience in data wrangling, creating intuitive data visualizations, and learning industry-leading practices for experimentation and causal inference.

Our humble expectations

• Experience in writing structured, efficient SQL queries for large datasets
• Knowledge of any statistical software (Python, Matlab, R, or equivalent)
• Analytical and curious self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and is motivated to achieve results 
• Located in Helsinki (or nearby)
• Have the right to work in Finland
• Can continue with us full-time after the internship

As mentioned above, we are unfortunately unable to offer relocation or visa support for internships, so you should be eligible for work in Finland for the duration of the program. If you’re offered to stay with us permanently after the internship, we’ll take care of your work visa if that’s needed.
