The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Research Center Kraków is offering an internship position in Applied AI/ML for LLMs. As part of the research team, you will contribute to PoC systems of Generative AI, and tinker with LLM architectures to enhance performance and efficiency. You will have the chance to collaborate with domain experts, participate in research projects and potentially publish your results in scientific journals or conferences. We will provide you with access to high performance computing infrastructure.

How you'll make an impact

• Your will be support the team in the development of PoC Generative AI systems, using open-source and in-house LLMs, and internal knowledge databases.

• You will implement state-of-the-art methods found in scientific literature to develop cutting edge LLM performance.

Your background

• You are a student in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics

• You are familiar with linear algebra, matrix calculus and Machine Learning theory

• You are comfortable with Python, including one of the following ML frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX

• You have a scientific and problem-solving mindset

• You know how to express your ideas and present results of your study to a broad audience

• You are fluent in Polish and English

• Familiarity with C++ programming and basic knowledge of computer architecture will be an additional advantage

• Familiarity with innovations in the field of LLMs will be an additional advantage
